Troubleshooting Internet Connectivity Tip #2 - Browser Optimization General Symptoms:
- able to pull up the homepage but unable to login to mail or seems to be able to go other sites from the favorites but is unable to do anything
- Seems to pull up a webpage but will end up saying server not found or page cannot displayed (e.g. website found waiting for reply...)
- able to login to mail but unable to view mail messages
- getting java script errors on almost every webpage
- buttons on a webpage doesn't work
- browsing is slow

For Internet Explorer users: Version 6
1. Go to [Tools] then [Internet Options]
2. Click on [Delete Cookies] and the [Delete Files].
*Deleting TEMPORARY Internet files will take some time if it's not done before, may sometimes lock up the computer, if this happens
Press CTRL-ALT-DELETE on the keyboard click on [TASK MANAGER], select Internet Explorer (not responding), then click on END TASK, click on END TASK again.
3. If your willing to lose the history click on [Clear History] but it would be best if you have all your websites saved in your Favorites
For Internet Explorer users: Version 7
1. Go to [TOOLS] (LOCATED ON THE FAR RIGHT OF THE MENU BAR) then [INTERNET OPTIONS]
2. Click on the [DELETE] button then click on [DELETE COOKIES] and [DELETE FILES] then click [CLOSE]
For Mozilla Firefox users:
1. Go to [Tools] then click [Clear Private Data] then click on the CLEAR PRIVATE DATA button
2. To clear cookies click on the cookies checkbox FIRST (cookies is not selected by default)
For Safari Users (Macintosh OS X)
1. To clear cookies, click on the [Safari] menu, then click on [Preferences], Go to the [Privacy] click on [Remove all]
2. To empty cache, click on the [Safari] menu then click on [Empty Cache]

FOR CONSISTENT JAVA SCRIPT ERRORS on Internet Explorer version 6
1. Go to [Tools] then [Internet Options]
2. Click on the [PROGRAMS] tab then click on *[RESET WEB SETTINGS]. Click on [YES] then [OK]
3. Go to the [Advanced] tab then click on [RESTORE DEFAULTS]
4. Click on [apply] then [OK]
5. Close Internet Explorer and then re-open it
*RESET WEB SETTINGS will also reset your home page to the default page (msn.com or if you're using a branded computer it will go to something like dell.com or compaq.com)
FOR CONSISTENT JAVA SCRIPT ERRORS on Internet Explorer version 7
1. Go to [Tools] then [Internet Options]
2. Go to the [ADVANCED] tab then click on the [Restore Advanced Settings] button then *[RESET INTERNET EXPLORER SETTINGS]
*THIS WILL DELETE ALL YOUR FAVORITES AND WILL RESET THE HOMEPAGE TO THE DEFAULT PAGE

1. Go to [Tools] then [Internet Options]
2. Go the [Privacy] tab then move the slider down to *[ACCEPT ALL COOKIES] then click [OK].
For Internet Explorer 7
SAME AS INTERNET EXPLORER 6
*Make sure you have a very strong Virus Protection or firewall in the computer. If you're not sure or you don't know just slide it down to [MEDIUM]
